Save the Date!

Hello and Welcome to the Community Connections blog!

It's that time of the year again...time for our 5th Annual Volunteer Recognition Luncheon. We will hold the luncheon on Monday, June 18 at Su Hong Restaurant in Palo Alto. It will be a great time to celebrate all of the volunteer work our participants have done out in the community. For reservations, please contact andrea@abilitiesunited.org.

We are also starting a new partnership next week with Peninsula Volunteers of the Bay Area. Our participants will be working at Little House in Menlo Park, assembling newsletters, doing office work and helping around the volunteer center. Everyone is excited to start this new work site.

In our community classes we held a music celebration at our Marimba class at the Community School of Music and Art. Our participants held a small concert and they were terrific! We will be on hiatus from Marimba classes over the summer, but are hoping to take singing classes at the College of Adaptive Arts in San Jose.

It's always busy in the Community Connections program. Thanks for reading!

What a Celebration!

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to the Community Connections Blog! Thank you for reading!

Today we had our 5th Annual Participant ART RECEPTION AT CSMA. What a huge success! All of our participants' art was on display; we have such a talented group of students. Everything from ceramics to wire sculptures lined the halls of the Community School of Music and Art.

"We absolutely love Abilities United participants," noted Art School Director Linda Covello. "They are all so talented. We feel privileged to have them as our students. It's one of our favorite events of the year."

Several Abilities United staff members attended the reception, along with family and friends. All of the students were awarded an artist certificate. The art work will be on display at CSMA, 230 San Antonio Rd, until this sunday, May 13.

Please let me know if you have questions!

Thanks for the suppport and keep reading!
